The spring golf season is finally here at Mountain Falls Golf Club and we will have several months of very nice weather. We may have a few windy days as we always do in April, but overall the temperatures will be terrific through June! The golf shop will be starting the Wednesday Night Twilight League on April 29th at 5:00 p.m. and the first event will be a low net tournament. The format will be the same as in past seasons with a variety of different formats throughout the season and lots of fun for one and all. This is a great way to enjoy friends and family by joining the Wednesday Night Twilight League.

Mountain Falls Golf Club acquired a piece of machinery several years ago which will allow us to aerate all of our turf without any affect on the playing surface as we have experienced in the past. The machine is from a group called Planet Air and it consists of a series of eight inch blades which penetrate the soil without pulling any turf in the process.

This machine can be used on all parts of the golf course and will be extremely beneficial as the temperatures continue to climb in the summer months. We will be able to use this machine to break up dry spots and also help drainage on wet areas at the same time. We feel two of the biggest advantages to using this machinery are the way in which the playing surface is minimally affected during use. The Planet Air is designed to open up the turf four to six inches below the surface without damaging the surface. Playability of the turf is not adversely affected at all during the process which is most noticeable on the greens. The second really exciting feature is the ease of operation combined with the speed a job may be completed; again not adversely affecting play. This will be a great addition to the equipment we use at Mountain Falls Golf Club to keep turf conditions as sound as possible.

We are now teamed up with the Medicus Golf Institute at the Mountain Falls Golf Club! Future schools will be available to those interested in 1, 2 or 3 day formats.

Student to teacher ratio at the schools will be a maximum of 4 students per instructor to allow each person the individual help they need. The student will see immediate results of this education in all 3 phases of the golf swing which include putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing. Students will also be introduced to other key aspects that will drastically affect their ongoing improvement including in-depth course management, and the mental approach to the game.

The Mountain Falls Grill Room is in the middle of another busy spring season and will host several more special events in the upcoming months such as Mother’s Day and Easter. We will have details posted in the dining room as we get closer to each event so everyone can plan ahead for those special holiday events.

The hours of operation are as follows for the month:

Breakfast  7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Daily (Saturday & Sunday until 2:00)
Lunch        11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Daily
Dinner       4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday
*The lunch menu will be served on Wednesday through Saturday in addition to the dinner menu if Lite Fare is more to your liking!
